More Information Released In Fatal Milltown Tractor Accident

(MILLTOWN) - A Milltown man was killed Friday in a tractor accident on his farm at 11324 South Marengo Pike.

According to police, 27-year-old Joseph McKinley was transported by a medical helicopter to the University of Louisville Hospital where he died from his injuries.

On Friday, at 7:16 p.m., the Washington County Sherriff's Department received a 911 call in reference to the accident.

Deputy Paul Jenkins learned McKinley had been moving round hay bales on the farm and for an unknown reason, the tractor overturned, pinning him underneath.

McKinley was an employee at UPS and a first responder for Posey Township Volunteer Fire Department and served as President of the Hardinsburg Town Board.

Funeral services will be held at Love Funeral Home on Wednesday, at 12:00 p.m. Visitation will be at Love Funeral Home today from Noon until 9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of service. Burial will follow at Hardinsburg Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Joe McKinley 4-H Scholarship Fund organized by the West Washington Class of 2009.
