INDOT Permits State Road 252 Closure For Colonel John Vawter Day Festival

Last updated on Tuesday, September 11, 2018

(MORGANTOWN) - The Indiana Department of Transportation has issued a permit allowing street vendors along State Road 252 in Morgantown this Saturday for the community’s 31st annual Colonel John Vawter Day Festival.

Motorists should drive with care and expect brief delays while traveling the east-west route between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Colonel Vawter was a Morgantown merchant and Christian pastor who helped establish commerce and propriety in the early to mid-1800s. His memory is memorialized in this annual event held the second Saturday after Labor Day each year.

The festival includes arts, crafts, food stands, and a performance stage.
