(PAOLI) - An Orange County man was sentenced to 12 years in prison after pleading guilty to sexual misconduct with a minor.
32-year-old David Gill of French Lick entered into a blind plea, leaving the sentence in the hands of Orange Circuit Court Judge Steven Owen.
Gill was arrested after Indiana State Police received a request to assist the Orange County Child Services to investigate the possible rape of a 15-year-old girl.
The girl told police she would sneak out of her house, ride with Gill and drink alcohol. But during the last time she saw Gill, she woke feeling she had been violated. She told police she later found out she was pregnant.
After the baby was born, DNA test proved Gill was the father of the child.
He was arrested on September 5, 2017, on felony charges of rape and sexual misconduct with a minor.
