Dugger Town Marshal Injured During Attempted Arrest

(DUGGER) - The Town Marshal in Dugger was injured when a suspect resisted arrest.

Police arrested 30-year-old Corey Camden of Dugger on charges of resisting arrest and battery on a law enforcement officer as well as drug charges.

On Tuesday at 5:35 p.m., Sullivan County Sheriff's Department Lt. William Snead was traveling eastbound on S.R.54, when he noticed a pickup and witnessed the passenger of a pickup duck down in the seat. The truck then pulled into a driveway and the passenger, identified as Camden, got out and ran.

After a short chase, officers captured Camden.

Dugger Town Marshal Justin Todd suffered cuts to his hand when Camden starting kicking and striking the marshal.
