NLCS Board Of Trustees To Meet Thursday

(BEDFORD) - North Lawrence Community School Board of School Trustees will meet in executive session on Thursday, September 20th at 5:15 p.m. and then in regular session at 6:15 p.m.

The meetings will be held at the NLCS Administration Building at 460 W Street.

This meeting is a meeting of the School Board in public for the purpose of conducting the School Corporation's business and is not to be considered a public community meeting. There may be time for public participation as indicated by agenda item, or as directed by the President. The meeting site is fully accessible. Any person requiring
further accommodation should contact the Superintendent, at the School Corporation's central office. The meeting will be electronically recorded and will be kept on file in the Superintendent's office. A copy of the audio recording will also be available on the NLCS website. A. Professional Leave Request:

Maleaha Evans - NLCC LEAP Instructor is requesting permission to attend the Leadership Development Program (January Seminar) at Purdue University on January 17-18, 2019. Expenses will be paid from NLCC travel funds.
Maleaha Evans - NLCC LEAP Instructor is requesting permission to attend the Leadership Development Program (April Seminar) at Purdue University on April 11-12, 2019. Expenses will be paid from NLCC travel funds.
Maleaha Evans - NLCC LEAP Instructor is requesting permission to attend the Leadership Development Program (May Seminar) at Purdue University on May 3, 2019. Expenses will be paid from NLCC travel funds.
Logan and Beth Felts - NLCC Instructors are requesting to attend the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, IN on October 24-26, 2018. The substitutes will be paid from NLCC Travel and the remaining expenses by FFA. No expense to NLCS.
Lacy Hawkins - BNL High School World History Instructor is requesting permission to attend the NEA Early Leadership Institute in Chicago, Illinois on September 21-24, 2018. All expenses will be covered by the NEA and they are reimbursing NLCS for the substitute teacher.
Laura Henley - Jt. Services/Brownstown Central Middle School Resource Instructor is requesting permission to travel to Washington D.C. on May 16-17, 2019 with the Brownstown Central Middle School. There are no expenses to NLCS.
Alita Thomas - BNL High School Social Studies Instructor is requesting permission to attend the Presidents & the Constitution: Abraham Lincoln in Springfield, Illinois on October 12-14, 2018. Friday, October 12, 2018 is the only day that she will be absent from school. Ms. Thomas applied for the seminar last school year and was awarded a place at the seminar. All expenses are covered by the Liberty Fund except the cost of the substitute teacher.

B.Field Trip Request:

Logan and Beth Felts - NLCC Instructors are requesting to take FFA students to the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, IN on October 24-26, 2018. Expenses will be paid for by the FFA.
David Schlegel - Bedford Middle School Principal is requesting approved of the Bedford Middle School's annual 8th Grade trip. Students will leave BMS for Cincinnati early on Friday, May 17, 2019, and will travel in private motor coaches to Cincinnati, Ohio. While in Cincinnati students will tour the Great American Ballpark and the Newport Aquarium. On Friday, evening students will attend a Reds game. Students will return to BMS at approximately 1 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2019.
