(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bedford man who was shot during a domestic fight at a Bloomington mobile home Sunday night has been arrested.

According to Bloomington Police, 35-year-old Joshua Vestal was shot twice; one bullet grazed his chest, the second bullet entered his left thumb and lodged in his wrist.

Police responded to the Arlington Valley Mobile Home Park after receiving a 911 call from a neighbor around 11 p.m. reporting they heard gunshots.

Bloomington Police Department Capt. Steve Kellams says officers are still looking for a 39-year-old Greene County man who is accused of shooting Vestal. He is wanted on a warrant for attempted murder and burglary.

Capt. Kellams says the incident began after a domestic dispute.

The Greene County man had filed for divorce on Aug. 16 from his wife who is now dating Vestal. He then went to the mobile home in the 1600 block of North Willis Drive, forced his way inside and shot Vestal. The man then fled the scene in a vehicle before police arrived.

When officers arrived at the scene they found Vestal in the bathroom. He was then transported to a local hospital for treatment.

During a search of the mobile home police found two types of shell casings and a 9 mm handgun hidden in the bathroom toilet tank.

Police arrested Vestal Monday morning on a charge of possession of a gun by a serious violent felon. Police also arrested 37-year-old Stephanie Bruce, who lives at the mobile home and was present during the shooting, on a charge of obstruction of justice.
