Welfare Check Leads To Six Arrests

(HUNTINGBURG) - Six Huntingburg residents were arrested after police were called to a home to check on a female juvenile.

The Huntingburg Police Department began an investigation July 11 after receiving a report that a 14-year-old juvenile had taken meth and was wanting to harm herself.

According to court documents, police found the female and she was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The arrests stemmed from allegations of neglect, drug and sex offenses and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Police arrested six people after a Dubois Circuit Court Judge issued warrants for their arrests.

Austin Elliott, 24, of Huntingburg, on a felony charge of child molesting.

Leonel Hernandez, 26, of Huntingburg, on a felony charges of sexual misconduct with a minor and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Cassandra Cole, 39, of Huntingburg, on three felony counts of neglect of a dependent and a misdemeanor count of driving while her driver's license was suspended.

Trisha Kendall, 24, of Huntingburg, on a felony charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and three misdemeanor counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Chealsey Mattingly, 18, of Huntingburg, on misdemeanor count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

The Dubois County Sheriff's Department and Jasper Police Department assisted.
