Seymour Police Chief Bill Abbott said the teen, who lives in Seymour, was walking on Eighth Street between Park and Blish streets Wednesday when she was shot one time in the torso.

The girl was able to make it to Seymour Middle School on North O'Brien Street where she met a friend and they called 911.
