Public Hearing Thursday For Historic Bridge At Morgantown

(MORGANTOWN) - The Indiana Department of Transportation will conduct a public hearing Thursday, August 16, at Morgantown regarding proposed rehabilitation of the historic steel truss bridge over Indian Creek on State Road 135.

Beginning at 5:30 p.m., area residents and other interested parties will have opportunity to view preliminary plans for retaining and rehabilitating the 1934 Parker through-truss bridge on S.R. 135 located three-tenths of a mile south of S.R. 252. At 6 p.m., there will be a visually reinforced presentation of the project. The formal hearing will then begin.

At that time, for-the-record comments from individuals with concerns or comments about the proposed plan will be recorded. These recorded statements and all written comments submitted prior to, during and for a period of two weeks after the hearing will be considered before development of final engineering plans.

This public hearing will take place at the Morgantown branch of the Morgan County Public Library. It is located at 79 West Washington Street.
