Mitchell And Seymour Mayors To Participate In 2018 Bike & Walk Summit Panel Discussions

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Health by Design, in partnership with the Indiana Department of Transportation, Indiana State Department of Health, and Bicycle Indiana will host the 2018 Bike & Walk Summit on August 29 and 30, in Downtown Indianapolis at the Omni Severin Hotel.

The theme of this year's conference is Leading Locally for Active Transportation. The summit will bring together leaders and representatives throughout the state of Indiana for an opportunity to share and showcase best practices toward advancing access, safety, connectivity and fun for people who walk, bike and ride transit.

"We are so excited to again host this statewide Bike and Walk Summit. Providing education and training on the planning, policy and programmatic strategies needed to create walkable, bikeable communities is at the very heart of what we do," said Kim Irwin, Health by Design's executive director. "This year's itinerary and speaker line up is sure to evoke impactful dialogue and inform our collective thinking as we continue to prioritize the promotion of active living and safety for all."

The summit will open on Wednesday, Aug. 29th, at 8:30 a.m. and run through Thursday afternoon, concluding at 4:30 p.m. It will include keynote speakers, breakout sessions, mobile workshops and classroom-based trainings. This year's keynote speakers include:
