Man Drives To Seymour After Being Shot In Indianapolis

(SEYMOUR) - Jackson County Sheriff’s Department officers assisted a Greenfield man who drove his way to Seymour after sustaining gunshot wounds in Indianapolis.

The Seymour Tribune reports that 30-year-old Joshua Utt drove on Interstate 65 from Indianapolis to Jackson County before he called police for treatment of a gunshot wound to his leg. He was taken to Schneck Medical Center in Seymour before being airlifted to a hospital in Indianapolis.

Jackson County Sheriff Mike Carothers says Utt is expected to recover.

Officer Brad Barker responded to the call made at 1:28 a.m. Friday in the 1400 block of North County Road 1240 East. Utt told police he had been shot three times while in Indianapolis.

Sheriff Carothers says three people in Indianapolis had been arrested for their involvement in the shooting.

Police in Indianapolis are investigating the incident.
