Man Arrested In Connection To Knife Fight That Left One Dead, One Seriously Injured

(BLOOMINGTON) - One man has been arrested in connection to a knife fight in Bloomington that left one man dead and another with serious injuries.

Police say 23-year-old Victor Morales Acosta died from multiple stab wounds.

A second victim also suffered multiple stab wounds and was transported to the IU Health Bloomington Hospital. He has been upgraded to stable condition.

Bloomington Police Capt. Steve Kellams says when police arrived at 2:45 a.m. to the Ziebart parking lot in the 2400 block of West Third Street, they found Acosta "lying in blood," with knife wounds to his neck and face.

They began life saving measures until medical personnel arrived. He was taken to Indiana University Health Bloomington Hospital and died there.

Monday afternoon police arrested 30-year-old Pedro Jeronimo-Arriaga, at his place of employment on a preliminary charge of attempted murder in connection to the second victim.

Jeronimo-Arriaga is being held in the at the Monroe County Jail without bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on Friday for his initial hearing.
