(HELTONVILLE) - A Heltonville couple was injured Monday afternoon after their vehicle struck a tree on Bartlettsville Road.
According to a Lawrence County Sheriff's Department report, 77-year-old Albert Collins complained of back and chest pain and were transported by ambulance to Indiana University Health Bedford Hospital for treatment.
Police say Albert was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Equinox north on Bartlettsville Road near Dunn Bridge Road around 3:30 p.m. when he ran off the south side of the roadway and struck a tree.
Judith told IU Health ambulance crew members that Albert passed out while driving.
Pleasant Run Volunteer firefighters who also responded to the scene, told police this is not the first time it had happened to Albert.
