(COLUMBUS) - A Columbus man died after being struck by a vehicle early Monday morning.
Lt. Matt Harris, spokesman for the Columbus Police Department, says that at approximately 2:50 a.m., officers responded to the area of State Street and South Beatty Street in regards to a person who had been struck by a vehicle.
First-responders found 34-year-old Justin L. Smith unresponsive. Smith was transported to Columbus Regional Health where he passed away.
Police say the victim's wife, 34-year-old Angela D. Smith, of Columbus, was driving the vehicle that struck her husband.
This investigation is ongoing and Columbus Police are asking anyone with information to call the department at (812) 376-2600. Tips and information can be left anonymously.
