Bedford Woman Arrested After Driving Intoxicated, Crashing With Children in Vehicle

(BEDFORD) - A Bedford woman was arrested after she crashed her car on State Road 37 near Old State Road 37 Sunday night.

Lawrence County Sheriff's Deputies arrested 28-year-old Amanda Brock, 28, of 1134 Hillcrest Way, on three counts of operating a vehicle while intoxicated - child endangerment.

According to police, Brock was traveling north on State Road 37 when her 2002 Buick LeSabre drifted over the fogline and struck the guardrail.

The vehicle continued traveling down the guardrail before returning to the roadway. The car then traveled across the grass median onto the southbound lanes of State Road 37. The car then went off the west side of the highway into a ditch.

Police say there was damage to the entire passenger side of the vehicle - fenders, both doors and both passenger side tires were flattened.

Brock told police her phone rang and she was reaching for it when the vehicle left the roadway and struck the guardrail.

Brock had three minor children in the vehicle with her when the accident occured.

Brock and the children were not injured.

Police say Brock was extremely unstead on her feet and had slow and slurred speech.

She was arrested and blood samples were obtained. Those results are pending.
