BBB Warns Of Social Security Telephone Scams

(UNDATED) - The Tri-State Better Business Bureau says it’s received multiple phone calls regarding Social Security telephone scams in Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky.

The BBB has these tips for you:

Report all potential scams to bbb.org/scamtracker so the Better Business Bureau can track and report scams to the public as well as appropriate government and law enforcement agencies.
Never give personal information over the phone.
If you receive a phone call and you are not sure it is a scam, hang up the phone and call the Social Security Association back to make sure you're on the line with the real deal.
And, never trust callers who use threats of arrest and/or hostility to bully you into doing what they want.
