Your Opinion Will Shape Design Elements For I-69 In Martinsville

Last updated on Sunday, July 8, 2018

(MARTINSVILLE) - Last week the city of Martinsville and INDOT unveiled conceptual design elements for the Martinsville segment of I-69 Section 6.

The design concepts included visual representations of an entrance monument, sound and retaining walls, and bridge and overpass elements.

However, there is still some aesthetics work left to do and you can help with the selection of three final design elements: the texture of walls and barriers, the style of fencing and the type of ornamental lighting fixtures.

More than 1,800 visitors to the Martinsville Aesthetics online survey have weighed in, and there is still time for you to select your options for textures, fencing and lighting. Simply go to either of these two links and follow the survey instructions: http://www.in.gov/indot/projects/i69/2346.htm and http://www.martinsville.in.gov/2018/07/02/indot-i-69-section-6-aesthetics-survey

The online aesthetics survey will be live until Monday, July 16. The Martinsville Aesthetics Task Force will take the online feedback into account when it makes a final recommendation for the aesthetics package for I-69 in Martinsville.

Display boards depicting the Martinsville aesthetics package will also be on display through July 16 at Martinsville City Hall, the Main Connection at 460 S. Main Street and at the Morgan County administration building.
