Two Arrested after Orleans Police Officer Stops Driver for Speeding

(ORLEANS) - Orleans Police arrested two people after stopping the driver for speeding on State Road 37 and Middleton Avenue, Friday, July 6.

The officer clocked the vehicle traveling 70 miles per hour in a 55 mile per hour zone.

The driver, 29-year-old Kassandra Young, of Seymour, admitted she had never obtained a driver's license.

Officers also detained her passengers, 22-year-old Jason T. Jones, of Mitchell and a 17-year-old juvenile.

Officers searched the vehicle and located meth, marijuana, syringes, scales and baggies.

Young was arrested on charges of dealing meth, neglect of a dependent, possession of marijuana under 30 grams, driving a vehicle while never licensed.

Jones was arrested on charges of dealing meth, possession of marijuana under 30 grams.

Both were taken to the Orange County Jail without incident.
