(MITCHELL) - A Mitchell man was arrested on July 4th after police say he touched a family member in a rude or angry manner.
Mitchell Police arrested 65-year-old James Edward Watterson on at 10:50 p.m. on a charge of domestic battery in the presence of a child.
Police say a 15-year-old child was present during the incident.
He will appear in Lawrence County Superior Court I for an initial hearing Friday where a not guilty plea was entered on his behalf. He was appointed a public defender, released from jail and ordered to have no contact with the victim.
A pretrial conference is scheduled for August 21 at 1 p.m.
