Loogootee Man Suffers Hand Injury From Fireworks

(SHOALS) - The Martin County Sheriff’s Office investigated a fireworks related accident Saturday morning in Shoals.

At 11:33 a.m., the Martin County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call reporting a fireworks accident, which occurred on Mill Road, near Shoals. The caller stated 49-year-old John Osborne, of Loogootee, was being transported in a black passenger car to the parking lot of RJ's Convenience Store.

Sergeant Keith Keller was in Shoals and immediately responded.

Sergeant Keller and units from the Shoals Volunteer Fire Department arrived within two minutes. After Sergeant Keller observed the extent of the Osborne's hand injury, he immediately requested the assistance of Air Evac.

Martin County EMS arrived on scene and transported Osborne to a landing zone in Shoals. Air Evac transported Osborne to the University of Louisville Hospital.

Assisting at the scene were Martin County Sheriff's Office, Shoals Volunteer Fire Department, Martin County EMS, and Air Evac.
