Few Seats Left To Hear Astronaut Ken Bowersox Speak At Scholarship Celebration

(BEDFORD) - There are a few seats left available for the upcoming BNL Scholarship Foundation 50th Anniversary Celebration on Saturday July, 14th.

Anyone can claim the few remaining seats as long as they are registered by emailing their name(s) to bnlsf@nlcs.k12.in.us as soon as possible. Mary Nell Boyer with the BNL Scholarship Foundation urges anyone that wants to attend MUST email your name. Individuals that do not email their names will not be allowed to enter this complimentary evening.

Hors d'oeuvres will be served at 5 p.m. in the BNL PAC, then at 6:30 p.m. dinner will be served in the cafeteria. The appreciation program will finish the event at 7:30 p.m.

Although born in Portsmouth, Virginia, Bowersox considers Bedford to be "home" as he is a BHS graduate from the class of 1974. He has flown on five space shuttles, was on the International Space Station for five and a half months and has been in space for 211 days.

Along with astronaut Ken Bowersox, adding comments will be 1992 BNL graduate, Scott Buttz. Buttz is a scholarship recipient, scholarship donor and a sponsor of the 50th Anniversary event.

Jamie Medlock will also speak. Medlock is a 2003 BNL graduate and recipient of a four year continuing scholarship from BNL.
