Bedford Parks Department Car Show Paticipants Defeat the Heat

(BEDFORD) - The Bedford Parks Department Car Show participants defeated the heat with their hot rods, classic cars and new American muscle.

This event raises money for the annual Bedford Parks Department events for kids such as the Easter Egg Hunt, Santa House and more. With these funds, those activities will continue to be free.

Super Oldies 105.5 WQRK entertained the crowd with tunes from the best of the 60s, 70s and 80s as judges Jeff Brooks, Terry Dorsett and Jarrod Melton picked the Top 30.

George Hiller took home the award for Best of show and Top 30 in his 1971 Chevelle.

Fred Herthel's classic red truck accompanied by Betty Boop won the hearts of the Bedford Parks Department as well as a nomination for Top 30 from the judges.

Mayor Shawna Girigis picked Don Shirley's 1930 Ford.

Kenneth McCann was awarded as Gillespie's First Place Trophies pick with his 2007 Mustang.

The following participants were recognized as one of the Top 30:

O'Reilly Auto Parts of Bedford held a speed wrench contest at their tent where Tony Terrel tightened 12 bolts 53.78 seconds. He received a $50 gift card to O'Reilly Auto Parts.
