Schools Begin Free Summer Food Program Monday

(BEDFORD) - Some North Lawrence Community Schools will participate in the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) that provides free meals to all children 18 years old and under as well as to those over 18 years who are enrolled in a state-approved educational program for the mentally or physically disabled.

Breakfast will be available from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. and lunch will be available 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. The meals are dine-in only and will be provided to all children for free while the adult breakfast costs $2.10 and lunch costs $3.30.

Meals will be available at the following locations:

Parkview Primary, Available June 4th - July 20th
Dollens/Oolitic Middle School, Available June 4th - June 29th
Lincoln Elementary, Available June 4th - July 20th
No meals will be served on Wednesday, July 4th.

The Summer Food Service Program for Children (SFSP) was created to serve nutritious meals to children when National School Lunch and School Breakfast Program meals are not available. SFSP reimburses organizations that prepare and serve meals to eligible children during the summer and school vacation periods.
