Police Say Children Caused Damage To Vehicle At Islamic Center Of Bloomington

Last updated on Friday, June 8, 2018

(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington Police report, it was children playing, not vandals, that caused damage to a car parked outside the Islamic Center of Bloomington Sunday night.

Police reviewed surveillance camera footage and discussions with Islamic Center members determined that damage to the windshield of a Toyota Corolla was caused "accidentally by the children of members who were playing outside" during an after-sundown Ramadan gathering.

Another car was damaged at the center on May 26, but the owner reported the dent happened when someone opened their car door and it hit his vehicle.

Ramadan is Islam's holy month of intense prayer, fasting during daylight hours and nightly feasts.
