Last updated on Friday, June 1, 2018

(BLOOMINGTON) - The Monroe County Fair has new dates and attractions for 2018.

Since 1955 the Monroe County Fair has been scheduled in August, but organizers have changed the fair dates to Saturday, June 30th through Sunday, July 8th.

"We were running into the school schedule and the State Fair schedule. We are hoping attendance is better because it will be one of the first fairs rather than being the last," said Tonya Clark, Monroe County Fair Executive Board member.
