(BLOOMINGTON) - The Monroe County Fair has new dates and attractions for 2018.

Since 1955 the Monroe County Fair has been scheduled in August, but organizers have changed the fair dates to Saturday, June 30th through Sunday, July 8th.

"We were running into the school schedule and the State Fair schedule. We are hoping attendance is better because it will be one of the first fairs rather than being the last," said Tonya Clark, Monroe County Fair Executive Board member.

Along with new fair dates, for the first time the Monroe County Fair is introducing a concert series to their 2018 lineup of events. On July 3rd, LANCO will take the stage along with Clayton Anderson and Reece Phillips. LANCO's known for their number one hit, "Greatest Love Story" and were nominated for Duo/Vocal Group of the Year and New Group of the year.

Ronnie Milsap will headline on July 5th and will be accompanied by BIGG COUNTRY and Backstreet. Ronnie Milsap has won 6 Grammys in his successful career with 40 number one hits. He is also a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame.

On July 6th, Phil Vassar and Keith Anderson will wrap up the concert series with Sheila Stephen and The Rodeo Monkeys. Phil Vassar is known for "Just Another Day in Paradise", "Carlene" and "Six Pack Summer". Keith Anderson is known for his hits "Pickin Wildflowers" and "I Still Miss You".
