In the upcoming months, the committee will examine all requests for new courts or changes in jurisdiction of existing courts, the adequacy of the statewide computer system used by the Department of Child Services and other issues relating to DCS.

"This summer, the committee will focus on various issues concerning the Department of Child Services," May said. "We will hear from the public and experts as we take a deep dive to form recommendations for legislation."

May said interim study committee hearings, which typically occur at the Statehouse in Indianapolis, can be viewed live online at iga.in.gov. This site also provides committee calendars and meeting agendas. Members of the public are welcomed to attend and testify.

In addition, May will serve as a member of the Military Base Planning Council.
