(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington mom Marian Leahy is filing a complaint against abortion clinics with the Monroe County prosecutor's office and the Indiana Attorney General, with some help from State Sen. Erin Houchin, R-Salem.

Maureen Langley, of the Herald Times reports, Leahy, Houchin and Indiana Right to Life president Mike Fichter announced in a press conference in Bloomington Wednesday they want an investigation into allegations that 48 abortions performed on girls under 16 years of age were not reported to the Department of Child Services over the past 12 months.

According to an Indiana Right to Life news release, 48 consumer complaints have been filed against nine Indiana abortion doctors who have allegedly failed to follow the legal reporting requirements to protect young children from sex abuse. The doctors are employed at all licensed Indiana abortion facilities, including Planned Parenthood of Bloomington.

Other Hoosier moms were filing similar legal complaints in Marion, Tippecanoe, Lake and Saint Joseph counties. Press conferences were also held in those counties Wednesday.

Indiana code 31-33-5 requires adults to report suspected cases of child abuse, which could include pregnancy in girls younger than 15.
