Pulling Invasives On The Milwaukee Trail

Last updated on Saturday, May 12, 2018

(BEDFORD) - Help pull invasive plants on the Milwaukee Trail. Garlic mustard is taking over several stretches of the trail, a non-native plant that kills native wildflowers and harms some butterfly species.

Join members of the Lawrence County Keep Invasives in Check group on Saturday, May 19 at 9 a.m. at the Williams Dam parking lot.

The group will provide bags and help you identify the plants. Work with this enthusiastic group to learn more about how invasive plants are changing our natural environment.

The garlic mustard pull is scheduled to end by 11 a.m..

Help make a difference on this popular hike and bike path. For more information on the project contact Christina Bruce at 812-279-8117, ext 3 or Christina.bruce@in.nacdnet.net.
