Prosecuting Attorney Candidate Samuel Arp Announces Robert Cline As Chief Deputy Prosecuting Attorney

(BEDFORD) - Samuel C. Arp II is proud to announce that he has chosen Robert Cline for the position of Chief Deputy Prosecuting Attorney.

Cline is a Lawrence County resident and has been the Chief Deputy Prosecutor of Morgan County since September 7, 2004.

Cline's reputation and experience speak for itself. He has prosecuted over 50 criminal jury trials and has been a representative for the Major Crimes Task Force which responds to all major crimes in Morgan County.

Additionally, Cline has been active in the Indiana National Guard as a Judge Advocate General Officer since 2004. He has trained deploying soldiers on the Law of War and Ethics. He has been a legal advisor to military commanders in a broad range of legal military issues. He has also served in the role of Military Defense Counsel with Court Martial Trails. During his time of service, he was awarded a Bronze Star for his actions in Afghanistan. Outside of the courtroom, Cline has served as an Adjunct professor at Indiana University and instructed students in the subject of forensic science. Since 2013 he has been an instructor with the Indiana Continuing Legal Education Forum Trial Advocacy Skills College. He is a proven classroom leader in training new attorneys in jury trial practice and the only prosecutor on the faculty.

Since 2016, Cline has been involved in the Indiana Prosecuting Attorneys' Council as a narcotics trial advocacy presenter in the areas of evidence and foundational issues. He has been a classroom leader in training new attorneys in conducting narcotics prosecution, and the use of expert witness in jury trials and training new attorneys in the practical use of the Indiana Rules of Evidence in trials.

"Mr. Cline and myself have been discussing this situation for over a year and that I do not think that it would be possible to find a more experienced attorney or someone whose core values are so similar to mine," says Samuel Arp.
