As of Thursday afternoon police were still looking for 20 year-old Kwin Boes.

Kwin Boes is charged with aggravated battery with the victim under the age of 18 and neglect of a dependent resulting in death. The sheriff's office says 3-month-old Parker Boes died earlier this month.

According to a probable cause affidavit, police were called to a home in the 300 block of East Vine Street in Patoka after they received a call May 3 reporting an unconscious infant.

Medical crews reported the baby showed signs of suffering and bleeding to the brain.

According to police the child's mother had left that morning to take her other child to school and left Parker to watch the baby.

Boes said during a police interview he didn't know what had happened to the child. He says the baby started breathing abnormally while he was in a "boppy pillow" on a couch. Boes said he picked up the child who was limp and cold. Boes then called the baby's mother.

Boes told police he had spent the night at his girlfriend's home after getting off work. He fed Parker his bottle and that Parker was crying afterward so he gave the baby some water in his bottle.

Boes says he fell asleep and awoke to the sound of the child crying while laying on the floor.

Boes says when he picked the child up, he stopped crying, was breathing abnormally and was limp.

Boes told police he believe the baby fell off the couch and hit his head on the coffee table.

Parker was transferred from St. Vincent to Riley's Children's Hospital in Indianapolis. On May 4, medical personnel said Parker suffered from hemorrhage to the brain, hemorrhage to both eyes, and bruising to the left side of the penis.

The assessment by the staff of Riley's Hospital indicated the fall described by Kwin Boes was not consistent with the baby's development capabilities and would not be expected to cause the injuries to his brain.

Parker died at Riley's Hospital on May 6.

Further testing found Parker suffered a ligament strain to his neck, consistent with abusive head trauma.

An autopsy conducted by the Marion County Coroner's Office indicated the cause of death to be blunt force trauma injuries of the head, and a manner of death of homicide.

Funeral services for Parker are Saturday at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton.
