Allison will compete against 519 students from across the United States and beyond. Jones is speller number 202 in the contest.

Organizers estimated that more than 11 million students each year are involved in local bees that feed into the Scripps National Spelling Bee.

Allison just finished the seventh grade and is the daughter of Matt and Nicole Jones. She bested 21 other spellers in the Orange County Publishing Company's Great Spelling Bee back on March 18 in Paoli to secure her spot in the Scripps National Spelling Bee.

The Allison's enrollment with Scripps and trip to Washington, D.C., are made possible by a partnership with the Orange County Community Foundation, Orange County REMC Operation Round Up, Springs Valley Bank & Trust Company, Old National Bank, Indiana Natural Gas Company, Paoli Walmart and the Springs Valley Education Foundation.
