(BEDFORD) - An Oolitic woman was arrested after Lawrence County Police say she injured another woman during a domestic fight at a home on Treslar Street in East Oolitic on March 28.
Police arrested 30-year-old Jessica Norris on Monday afternoon on a warrant charging her with a felony count of domestic battery. She is being held on a $755 cash or $7,500 surety bond.
According to a Lawrence County Superior Court I probable cause affidavit, Lawrence County police were called to a home on Treslar Street about a domestic fight. The caller told police that Norris had battered her.
Norris was living at the Treslar Street address, along with the woman who reported the crime.
The woman told police that she and Norris got into an argument after Norris wanted to borrow the woman's car. Norris became upset and began screaming and cursing at the woman. During the dispute Norris turned over a couple of tables. She then used her cell phone to strike the woman on the side of the face.
The woman was treated at the scene by an IU Health Hospital ambulance crew.
