(ODON) - Odon Police Department has a new reserve officer.
23-year-old Emily Steffy of Bruceville works for the Daviess County Sheriff's Department as a dispatcher and is now serving her community as an Odon reserve officer.
The Washington Times Herald reports, Steffy decided to work for Odon because she liked the small community and wants to build a relationship with members of the community.
In the last five months, the Odon department has hired four new reserve officers - Ryan Klingle, Nick Hartsaw and Stephanie Leitold.
All of these new reserve officers are now out patrolling in the Odon area.
