(BEDFORD) - The North Lawrence School Board is considering allowing 8th grade students to participate in Bedford North Lawrence High School Marching band.
BNL Music Chairman Eric Berger and Marching Band Director Jim Jones addressed the board Thursday night with the request, adding other surrounding schools allow 8th grade students to participate in their marching band.
So far 30 students have showed interest in participating. Currently there are 72 students at BNL that participate in Marching Band.
Berger told the board, 8th graders participate in the Kentucky Derby Festival Pegasus Parade and the Indianapolis 500 Parade.
