ISP Sgt. Greg Day Named Monroe County's Police Officer Of The Year

(BLOOMINGTON) - Indiana State Police Sgt. Greg Day was named Monroe County’s Police Officer of the Year by the Northside Exchange Club Wednesday at the American Legion.

Sgt. Day, a 19-year veteran of the force, supervises Bloomington's Aggressive Criminal Enforcement Section, a team created to address growing drug problem.

Under Sgt. Day's leadership, the team arrested dozens of heroin and meth dealers in Monroe County and throughout southern Indiana.

Last year, the team made 752 arrests on 1,942 criminal charges, including 787 felony charges.

Sgt. Day also helps other officers with criminal investigations and car accident reconstructions. He also serves as a mentor to probationary officers.
