The grant from Hoosier Uplands, as well as memorial gifts in memory of Albert Cross Sr. completed the $20,000 match that Steve Ferguson offered.

The funds came from Hoosier Uplands' Community Development and Improvement Program, which targets projects that enhance communities. These funds will be applied to Phase I of the project.

Volunteers in Springville have been raising money to restore the gym following a fire that all but destroyed the building in 2016.
