Gov. Holcomb Names Amy Marie Travis to Jackson County Superior Court 1

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Gov. Eric J. Holcomb today announced three judicial appointments.

Jackson County Superior Court #1

The governor named Amy Marie Travis as his appointment to the Jackson County Superior Court #1. She will succeed Judge Bruce Markel III, who retires May 31.

Travis currently serves as the elected prosecutor in Jackson County, a position she has held since 2012. Prior to working in the Jackson County Prosecutor's Office, she served as a deputy prosecutor in Lake and Monroe counties and was in private practice. Travis received a bachelor's degree from Indiana University and a law degree from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law.

Porter County Superior Court #3

The governor named Michael J. Drenth as his appointment to the Porter County Superior Court #3. He will succeed Judge Julia Jent, who retires June 1.

Drenth currently serves as a deputy prosecutor in Porter County and has been with that office since 1992. Drenth received a bachelor's degree from Michigan State University and a law degree from Valparaiso University School of Law.

Vermillion County Circuit Court

The governor named Jill D. Wesch as his appointment to the Vermillion County Circuit Court. She will succeed Judge Bruce V. Stengel, who retired last month.

Wesch currently serves as chief deputy prosecutor in the Vermillion County Prosecutors Office and has been with that office since 2015. Prior to that, she was in private practice and served as a staff attorney for the Indiana Department of Children Services. Wesch received a bachelor's degree from the University of Southern Indiana and a law degree from Valparaiso University School of Law.

Travis, Drenth and Wesch will be sworn in on dates to be determined.
