Girl Says She Was Sexually Assaulted By Three Teenage Boys

Last updated on Thursday, May 10, 2018

(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bloomington teen reports she was sexually assaulted by three boys at an apartment in the 100 block of South Park Ridge Road on Tuesday.

Bloomington police were alerted to the crime by IU Health Hospital emergency workers on Tuesday afternoon.

According to Bloomington Police Capt. Steve Kellams, the girl had spent Monday night at a friend's house and had been in communication with the teenage boys on social media and by cellphone.

Around 2 a.m. she agreed to go to an apartment where the boys were staying, but told the boys she "didn't want to do anything."

While in the boy's room the girl told investigators that three 17-year-olds sexually assaulted her and a 11-year-old witnessed it.

The girl says she walked a mile back to her friend's house around 5 a.m. The friend found her crying and talked her into going to the hospital and reporting the assault.

The girl and her mother want to pursue criminal charges against the boys.

Detectives obtained a search warrant for the apartment and gathered evidence for the case, along with evidence collected during the sexual assault examination.

Police have not been able to find the three boys, but continue to look for them.
