(GOSPORT) - Owen Valley Fire Department firefighters were called to a house fire at the intersection of Main and Second streets at 6:58 a.m. on Friday.
Bean Blossom Township assisted at the scene.
Firefighters say the fire started in the back of the home and spread to the attic area, destroying the home.
A litter of kittens was killed that were in the home that was destroyed.
No one was home when the fire started.
The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
