(BEDFORD) - Brigitte Gurden, Chief Professional Officer of the Boys and Girls Club of Lawrence County, has submitted her letter of resignation.
"My decision to resign was solely based on personal circumstances. The club is moving in a positive direction and will continue to serve the kids of Lawrence County greatly," said Gurden.
"Brigitte is a tremendous youth development professional and the Boys and Girls Club of Lawrence County has been the benefactor of her guidance and leadership during her time as our Director. She brought sound processes, exceptional grant writing skills, and a keen sense of personnel selection that will continue to pay dividends beyond her time in the role," said Angie Lewis, President of the Board of Directors for the club.
Gurden has served the club since November 2016.
"It has been emotional and disappointing to learn of her impending departure for Brigitte, the staff, and the board. We fully support her decision as what is best for her and her family, and wish her only the best in the future. She made a large positive impact in a moderate amount of time. Her contributions are appreciated, and she will be missed," Lewis continued.
Gurden said, "I am really grateful for the opportunity to be a part of something that is so meaningful to the community. I will miss working with the amazing staff, board, community and seeing the kids every day."
"We are now getting ready for the critical task of selecting our community's next youth development leader. Our club has never been stronger, with the state of Indiana's Youth of the Year, very capable staff, and strong membership and programs. The Director position is a great opportunity for someone with a passion for youth, a vision for the future, and a strong desire to make a lasting impact on our county's future," said Lewis.
