BNL, Mitchell, Greene County Graduations Tonight, Others On Saturday

(BEDFORD) - Bedford North Lawrence High School is proud to present the Class of 2018 graduates during their 44th Graduation Commencement Exercises. Commencement will be at 7 p.m. tonight in the BNL Fieldhouse.

Samuel Baker and Logan Grissom will address their fellow students as valedictorians of the Class of 2018. Salutatorians are McKenna Garrison and Jasmine Heckard.

Opening comments will be presented by Principal Todd Tanksley. Gary Conner will introduce members of the North Lawrence school board. Tim Day, a BNL science teacher, will introduce the graduates, and Kirsten Collier, school board president, will present diplomas.

Allie Crulo-Rood, president of the Student Council and senior class president, will deliver closing remarks and will lead in the changing of tassels at the end of the ceremony.

Orchestra and choral selections also will be part of the program.

Seniors chose, "Together we have experienced life, separately we will pursue our dreams and forever our memories will remain" as their class motto.

The class flower is the white carnation.

Class colors are navy and silver.

Doors will open at 5.30 p.m.

Lower Level seating requires a commencement ticket - Each Senior will be given FIVE preferred seating tickets during the graduation practice at 8.30am on Friday May 25th - Tickets are complimentary and are good for lower level seating. Lower Level seating is reserved family of graduates. The Upper Level is open seating for anyone.

Handicap & Elderly seating is designated sections near the stage on the floor and the first two row of bleachers in the lower level. If a graduate is in need of handicap or elderly seating, we will have handicap tickets available.

There is Reserved Parking for Handicap and Elderly in the South Parking Lot, near the Auxiliary Gym Entrance, just north of the football stadium.

The last day of school for BNL students is May 30th.

Mitchell High School

Commencement at Mitchell High School will also begin at 7:30 p.m. tonight.

Seven students qualified as valedictorians they are Zachary Chastain, Emily Dalton, Sam Embry, Shelby Fletcher, Lydia Pfaff, Caden Pritchett and Alyssa Tedrow. The seven will deliver a collaborative speech.

Surrounding Area

In Greene County, seniors at Bloomfield and White River Valley high schools will receive diplomas tonights.

Orleans and Springs Valley seniors will graduate Saturday afternoons along with graduates from Eastern Greene, Linton-Stockton and Shakamak high schools.

In Monroe County, commencement ceremonies for Bloomington North, Bloomington South and Edgewood High School are June 2.

Brown County High School's commencement is Friday, June 8, at 7 p.m.
