Bloomington Mayor Hamilton To Host Farmers' Market Saturday

Last updated on Friday, May 11, 2018

(BLOOMINGTON) - Mayor John Hamilton invites residents and visitors to the Bloomington Community Farmers’ Market on Saturday, May 12 to drop by from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. as he hosts “Mayor at the Market.”

Mayor Hamilton will greet visitors in front of City Hall at 401 N. Morton St. and be on hand to discuss current issues and initiatives in the City of Bloomington.

The kick off of A Fair of the Arts for the 2018 season is a bonus attraction during this Saturday's market. Held on the Showers Plaza in front of City Hall, it's an opportunity to purchase art and watch demonstrations by local artists and craftspeople the second Saturday of every month through October. Like the market, the fair takes place from 8 a.m. through 1 p.m.

The weekly "Mayor at the Market" series gives community members the opportunity to get acquainted with their mayor and other members of their city government and to share ideas and concerns about the city in an informal setting.
