Applications Now Available For Greene County Fair Queen Contest

(GREENE CO.) - The Greene County Queen Committee has announced this year’s contest for the Miss Greene County title will be held June 10 at 7 p.m. at the Greene County Fairgrounds. Applications for the contest must be received before May 25.

The Greene County Daily World reports, applications can be dropped off at the Hoosier Insurance Agency, emailed to Janell Spencer at spencerjanell@yahoo.com or sent via mail to Janell Spencer, 3894 N 550 W, Worthington IN 47471.

All entries must be accompanied by a $25 entry fee due at the time of application.

Candidates for Miss Greene County must be at least 18 years of age and must not have reached the age of 22 on or before June 1. Greene County Queen and Runner-Up will be decided at the June 10 contest. Each winner will receive a scholarship and prizes donated by local merchants.

Along with the Queen, a Princess court will be chosen from entrants age 15 to 17. The committee will crown a Princess and Princess court with first runner-up and second runner-up. A Miss Congeniality will also be chosen by the candidates themselves.

The committee will hold an informational meeting May 30 at 6 p.m. at the Event Center at the Greene County Fairgrounds. Those wishing to enter the pageant should attend and be prepared for a photo shoot that evening.

Entrants do not have to be 4-H members, but the selected Queen will reign over the 4-H fair as one of the community services required.
