(BEDFORD) - The 6th Annual Ugly Duck Derby takes place this Saturday, May 19th from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. at the John Lowery Municipal Pool.
All proceeds from the Ugly Duck Derby will benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence County. The club serves more than 2500 Lawrence County kids a year providing after school programs including sports, art classes, homework help, robotics, cooking and more.
The community is encouraged to adopt a duck or multiple ducks that will race down the slide. The first duck to cross the finish line will win the owner a 2 year lease on a new Ford Focus from Bedford Ford and the last duck will win the owner a vacation to Palm Beach over fall break. Other prizes are listed below.
It was by popular demand that past winners and fan favorites will come back to compete in the 2018 Belly Buster Competition at the Ugly Duck Derby. The past winners are Gary Dorsett, Gavin Steele, Derek George, Steve Weber and Angie Timan. The fan favorites include Terry Tlustek, Ryan Sullivan and Noah Browning.
There will also be two new comers to the competition. They are Adam Young and DeWayne Turpen.
