Last updated on Thursday, May 10, 2018

(BEDFORD) - The 4th Annual Bedford Eagle Riders 654 charity ride is scheduled for Saturday, June 16.

This year, the group will donate proceeds from the event to Dogs Helping Heroes, a charitable organization dedicated to restoring freedom and peace of mind to wounded veterans, first responders and their families by gifting specially trained and certified service dogs. Most of the dogs used are rescues from shelters and trained by inmates. Professional dog trainers then complete the training before matching each dog with the appropriate individual or family.

Club members now are raising money for the ride.

The group is looking for sponsors for t-shirts and items for their annual auction and door prizes.

There will also be a 50-50 raffle.

The ride is open to everyone and you don't have to ride a motorcycle.

The route of the ride has not been established for this year's event. The event starts and ends at the Stone City Aerie at 1312 J St.

Registration begins at 9 a.m. with kick stands up at noon. The entry fee is $20 and covers the cost of a bike or car and includes a T-shirt and food.

Post-race activities will commence at the Eagles Aerie no later than 4 p.m. There will be plenty of food and entertainment provided by the Larry Summerton Band from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
