Last updated on Monday, April 2, 2018

(ORLEANS) - The Town of Orleans is preparing for the kick off of the 50th anniversary of the Dogwood Festival April 21-28.

"We are planning a weeklong party celebrating 50 years of fun and memories with the theme Celebrating the Blossom for a Season-Celebrating the Memories for a Lifetime," says Robert F. Henderson, Executive Director Orleans Chamber of Commerce

It's Spring Town-Wide Clean Sweep time. Residents are asked to pitch in and do their part as business owners in fixing up, cleaning up, sprucing up, and painting Orleans.

"Clean and trash free sidewalks, eye catching window displays, flowers, a newly planted dogwood tree, make for a well-cared for appearance for our individual businesses and the over-all positive impression of Orleans," Henderson added.

The Chamber will again play host with more than 40 events including a number of special pre-festival events such as popular Town-Wide Yard Sale and the main "Fun-raiser" of the year, the Silent Auction.

The 2018 "Breakfast Chat" Chamber series is back and will meet Thursday April 12th at 8 a.m. at Sprigler's Deli downtown.

There will be a Wrap Up Orange County Third House with state lawmakers on Sat., April 14th 10 a.m. at Paoli Town Hall.

"We urge you to get involved, to take part in building and strengthening the heart of our community, to strive to make it a better place for everyone," Henderson added. "Please contact us at (812) 865-9930 or visit on-line www.historicorleans.com and let us know that we can count on your participation! Also please feel free to contact us anytime if we can be of any assistance to you and/or your business. We are here to serve you and are anxious to do so."
