Last updated on Monday, April 2, 2018

(BEDFORD) - Beginning on Monday, J Street between 14th and 15th streets will be closed so crews can work on the Stonegate Arts and Education Center.

According to Bedford Plan Director Dan Kirk, heavy equipment will be parked on the street to install a limestone facade on the building.

The road will be closed for about a week while the work is being done.

John Williams Boulevard will be closed between Lincoln Avenue and O Street starting today for the construction of a roundabout. Milestone Contractors will be doing the construction.

Once construction begins, it will take between three to six months to complete.

Last August, The city received $528,000 from the Indiana Department of Transportation to make road improvements through the state's Community Crossings matching grant funds and will use an additional $750,000 received from the state in March from Local Option Income Tax.

Once the roundabout is complete Mayor Shawna Girgis says the city will host a public meeting to explain to motorists how to maneuver through the roundabout.
