Oolitic Fall Festival Takes New Name And New Location

Last updated on Tuesday, April 3, 2018

(OOLITIC) - The Oolitic Fall Festival will now be the Salt Creek Fall Festival and will be located at Salt Creek Flea Market, 101 Oolitic Rd. Bedford, Indiana.

The change stems from a decision of the Oolitic town council to discontinue the festival as an event held by the town of Oolitic according to Heather Machida, Salt Creek Fall Festival organizer.

The Salt Creek Fall Festival will take place October 4th - 6th and will include a car show, food, vendors, Salt Creek Fall Festival Queen and Mini Miss Pageant, trunk of treat, carnival rides and live music.

The owners of The Salt Creek Flea Market are working with the festival organizers to ensure the festival runs smoothly.

The plan for a parade is still up in the air as the new location calls for a different parade route.

There will be a new Haunted Trail that will consist of a corn maze and trail all-in-one. The Haunted Trail will be "10 times bigger than the school ever was" according to Machida. The Haunted Trail will be open starting the last two weekends in September and all four weekends in October.

There are plans for a kids hour on the Haunted Trail that will be less frightful and during the day.

Anyone wanting to be a vendor can call Heather Machida at (812) 483-2603.

The Salt Creek Fall Festival is also looking for volunteers to help with the Haunted Trail and in other areas of the festival organization.
