Norman Man Arrested After Crashing Into Mailbox And Utility Poles

(BEDFORD) - A Norman man was arrested early Sunday morning after he crashed his car into mailboxes and utility poles on Heltonville Road.

Bedford Police arrested 24-year-old Devon Young on charges of operating a vehicle with a blood-alcohol content of 0.15 percent or greater, OWI endangerment, OWI per se and leaving the scene of an accident.

According to the police report, Young was traveling east in the 110 block of Heltonville Road when his 2006 Pontiac Torrent went off the side of the road breaking two telephone poles and a mailbox owned by James Pentezer.

He then fled the scene.

Police located Young and his car just east of the accident scene.

Young was taken to a local hospital for a medical evaluation and a blood draw.

AT&T was notified and replaced the broken poles.
